The observatory of Southern Tunisia heritage is a digital platform built under the European project H2020 Sfax Forward « Culturage heritage in South Tunisia: promoting interdisciplinarity and participatory sciences for an inclusive society » (2019-2020) carried by a consortium of four partners :
The Maghreb House of Human Sciences (MHHS) of the University of Sfax (Tunisia), The Mediterranean House of Human Sciences of Aix-en-Provence (MHHS), the House of Human Sciences and South-East Society (HHSS) in Nice, and the House of Human Sciences (HHS-FUB) in Brussels.
The Maghreb House of Human sciences (MHHS) is in charge of this observatory for the enhancement and monitoring of Southern Tunisia heritage relies on its expertise, its experience and partnerships with civil society, the public sector, the private sector and international organizations for the development of this platform.
The Southern Tunisian Observatory aims to:
- Promote scientific research in the field of heritage through the carrying out of studies, research, and surveys to produce data and indicators on the state of southern Tunisia heritage.
- Encourage the organization of scientific events, symposiums, forums, and reflection workshops on themes related to heritage.
- Create an interdisciplinary approach in collaboration with NGOs that watch over the heritage of southern Tunisia.
- Provide information and useful documentation on heritage.
- Boost the implementation of programs and projects with national and international partners.
